Cleaning fingerprints from metal letters. Stainless steel products in either satin or mirror polish will come clean using a dry microfiber cloth. Lacquered products require careful handling, a slightly dampened soft cloth will work to remove light handling marks.

Accurate installation of letters with stud mount. When installing letters with stud mount, use a center punch to create a guide for the tip of the drill bit. You’ll be surprised how much more accurate the template is. This technique is effective on sheet rock, wood paneling, brick, aggregate, concrete and metal panels.

No surprises when embarking on an installation trip. Always check the contents of the box(s) that product arrived in for damage, shortage and accuracy of template spacing, etc.

Tighten small diameter threaded studs in shallow letters with pliers to assure positive locking with threads. Occasionally due to material and shallow hole for tapping, Locktite thread glue is recommended. This will work well particularly on Stainless steel material when using 0/80, 2/56, 4/40 or 6/32 threaded studs.

Before sending art files, check correctness of typestyle/logotype by zooming in and magnifying the character. Irregular lines, curves that aren’t tangent and vector lines can’t hide. It is suggested that “clean-up” of art is accomplished before sending to us for manufacture. You’ll be pleased with the final product.

When installing brass, bronze or copper products, avoid silicone based adhesives as they can effect the durabilityof lacquer coatings.

To assure that there aren’t any delays caused by unidentifiable e-mailed art files, please label your files with company name, contact name, phone number, Steel Art Job number, Project name and/or description. Art files are downloaded several times daily and are worked on immediately upon receipt…..unless our Designers don’t know what job the art is for.
